Komon Seji Okuda Kuro Haiyu Asabachi (black ash glaze)

 Made by Seji Okuda, a craftsmen from Shigaraki in the Shiga prefecture. His ceramics are more bold and contain a certain rustic element where the soil used peeks though.  He only used black and white colours. The contrast in his pieces is stunning with endless colour showing up in the glazes when inspected closely.
